Stuck
By Oliver Jeffers
The Story
A boy named Floyd gets his kite stuck in a tree and tries to knock it loose by throwing his shoe — but the shoe gets stuck too, so he keeps throwing bigger and stranger things instead.
Why It's Special
For the kid whose solution to one small problem always seems to spiral into ten bigger ones, Floyd's escalating logic will feel painfully, hilariously familiar.
- Big idea: Sometimes fixing a problem the wrong way just makes a much bigger, funnier problem.
- Vibes: Deadpan, absurd, and gleefully over-the-top — the kind of silly that builds and builds.
Perfect For Kids Who
- enjoy escalating, ridiculous humor
- like to predict what happens next
- are working on thinking through better solutions
- love repetitive, list-building stories
