The Good Egg
By Jory John
The Story
An overachieving egg tries to be perfect while the other eleven eggs in his carton behave badly, until the pressure literally starts to crack him and he decides something has to change.
Why It's Special
For the kid who feels like they have to be the responsible one, the well-behaved one, the one who holds it all together — this egg knows exactly how that feels.
- Big idea: Taking care of yourself isn't selfish, and being good doesn't mean being perfect.
- Vibes: Funny, self-aware, a little frazzled, ultimately calming
Perfect For Kids Who
- are working on managing big feelings about being 'good'
- enjoy silly egg-carton humor
- respond well to stories about self-care and slowing down
- like to talk about what makes them feel stressed or pressured
